Ministry of Health has given Financial clearance to the 2018 batch of Nurses and Midwives to be employed

According to previous reports, The Ministry of Health (MoH) was seeking financial clearance to permanently engage 2017-2018 graduate nurses to beef up the number of nurses in the country to help contain the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic in the country.

In an earlier address to the nation, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo had directed the MoH to mobilise new and retired health professionals to augment the number of frontline health workers to help deal with the impact of the disease in the country, in line with the presidents directives the ministry has given placement to the 2017 batch of graduates and are to report 1st September, 2020 at their various stations.

Today the Ministry of Health has given Financial clearance to the 2018 batch of Nurses and Midwives who has successfully completed their training and acquired license to practice to be employed. The following categories of 2018 batch of graduates are qualified to be cleared and given permanent appointments:

  • Degree both public and private
  • Diploma both public and private
  • (NAP) Nurse Assistant Preventive formerly Community health Nurses (CHN)
  • Nurse Assistant Curative (NAC) formerly Health Assistant Curative (HAC) public trained

These release according to the Ghana Registered Nurses and midwives Association (GRNMA) will take effect next clinical year 2021 on the First of April.
